Steward's Report
Wallbanger was slow to begin.
Thriving and Weblec Ace collided soon after the start. Christo Bale, Tough Tears and Run Like Jess collided on the first turn. True Detective, Thriving and Weblec Ace collided entering the front straight. True Detective, Thriving, Weblec Ace and Run Like Jess collided on the second turn. True Detective visibly eased and turned its head inwards in the home straight.
True Detective underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey and deltoid muscle injuries, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Mr James Shaw, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), True Detective was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Shaw pleaded guilty to the charge, True Detective must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Post-race samples were taken from placegetters - Christo Bale (1st), Last Hurrah (2nd) and Wallbanger (3rd).
