Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Dinner Roll, Lucky Yap and Aston Bijou were quick to begin.  Grand Warrior and Dami Jill were slow to begin.  Dinner Roll and Carter collided soon after the start.  Magic Sox checked off Lucky Yap soon after the start.  Dinner Roll, Carter, Lucky Yap and Aston Bijou collided soon after the start checking Dinner Roll, Carter, Lucky Yap and Magic Sox.  Carter, Dinner Roll, Lucky Yap, Magic Sox and Brindi Yaala collided approaching the first turn checking Dinner Roll, Grand Warrior, Brindi Yaala, Carter and Lucky Yap.  Magic Sox checked off Dami Jill on the first turn.  Magic Sox visibly eased and turned it's head inward approaching the home turn.  Dami Jill visibly eased approaching the home turn.  Grand Warrior brushed the running rail approaching the home turn and lost ground.  Carter and Dami Jill collided on the home turn checking Dami Jill.  Magic Sox visibly eased and marred Lucky Yap in the home straight, severely checking Lucky Yap.  Dami Jill pulled up in the home straight and failed to finish.

Magic Sox was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the right metarsal and right front toe, no stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Representative Mr P. Bartlett regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1),  Magic Sox was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Bartlett pleaded guilty to the charge,  Magic Sox must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Dami Jill was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.  Stewards spoke to Owner Mr D. Pryse regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1)  Dami Jill was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Pryse pleaded guilty to the charge, Dami Jill is suspended for 28 days at Geelong only and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
