Steward's Report
Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8. Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff, at all times.
All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful heatlh screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.
Ishmy Neecy and Swift Zeal collided soon after the start checking Chocolate Rocket and Ishmy Neecy. Chocolate Rocket and Ismy Neecy collided on the first turn checking Chocolate Rocket, severely checking Ishmy Neecy. Chocolate Rocket, Cullquin Finn and Still Quick collided on the first turn checking Chocolate Rocket and Cullquin Finn. Black Aria checked off Swift Binga approaching the home turn. Ishmy Neecy and Cullquin Finn collided on the home turn. Black Aria turned its head and marred Swift Binga on the home turn. Swift Binga raced wide in the home straight. Outrageous Ester lost ground in the home straight.
Outrageous Ester underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left back muscle and right triangle muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr M. Bewley, the trainer of Black Aria regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Black Aria was charged with marring. Mr M. Bewley pleaded guilty to the charge, Black Aria was found guilty and suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.
