Steward's Report

Play Along underwent a veterinary examination prior to racing and was passed fit to race.

A pre-race sample was taken from Infinite Will.

Fifteen Love was slow to begin.

Verne Bale and Xericom Bale collided approaching the first turn checking Verne Bale. Verne Bale and Ride On collided approaching the first turn checking Verne Bale. Busted checked off Xericom Bale on the first turn. Ben Doon and Xericom Bale collided several times on the home turn. Xericom Bale and Fifteen Love collided entering the home home straight and again in the home straight. Infinite Will and Play Along collided approaching the winning post. Play Along turned its head and visibly eased approaching the winning post.

Play Along underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 8. Play Along was found to have a left groin injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr C. Blake, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Play Along was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Blake pleaded not guilty to the charge, Play Along was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
