Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff, at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Significant delays during the kennelling process were encountered with four (4) late scratchings and a participant requiring urgent medical attention on course. Stewards altered the closing time of kennelling in accordance with GAR 31.  The kennels closed at 11:40am.  

As a result, race times were amended, back one race, as follows:

Race 1: 12:00pm, Race 2: 12:17pm, Race 3: 12:40pm, Race 4: 1:00pm, Race 5: 1:19pm, Race 6: 1:39pm, Race 7: 1:56pm, Race 8: 2:17pm, Race 9: 2:42pm, Race 10: 2:57pm, Race 11: 3:20 & Race 12: 3:39pm.

Honey's Destiny – New declared weight of 28.4kg, last raced at 29.8kg.

Devon Shadow, Honey's Destiny and Rev The Jockey were slow to begin.

Rev The Jockey and Got Some Zip collided soon after the start.  Always There checked off Rev The Jockey on the first turn.  Honey's Destiny checked off Always There approaching the home turn.  Always There checked off One Double Beat entering the home straight.

Mighty Tuscany- Late scratching at 11.06am on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to an elevated temperature. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. 

Go The Doves - Late scratching at 11.18am due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr Vincent Daffy was fined $100. Stewards spoke to Mr Daffy regarding the weight variation of Go The Doves and warned Mr Daffy that any future breaches of (GAR 39) may result in an increased penalty.

Casanova Man, Sunspear and Mt. View Molly were quick to begin.  Major Diamond was very slow to begin (4 lengths).

View Molly.  Take A Lilly checked off Dinkydi Sweetie on the first turn.  Dinkydi Sweetie galloped on Sunspear on the first turn causing Mt. View Molly to race wide.  Take A Lily checked off Dinkydi Sweetie approaching the home turn checking Mt. View Molly.  Run Shifty Run and Sunspear collided in the home straight checking Sunspear.  Take A Lily and Sunspear collided in the home straight.

Southern Edge, Shaun John and Banjo Sally collided on the first turn checking Banjo Sally, Shaun John and Beers On Brody; causing Shaun John to fall.  Banjo Sally and Glayva collided on the first turn severely checking Glayva and Eddie Lee.

Shaun John underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right flexor tendon, left hind toe and spike wounds to the right foreleg. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Banjo Sally underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a deep laceration to the left hind outside aspect. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Zoe's Intention - Late scratching at 11:10am on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to a toe injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. 

Cersei - Late scratching at 11:42pm on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to a left hamstring and thigh injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Tony Cortese, the representative of the greyhound Cersei regarding the late scratching in this event.  Stewards issued a warning to Mr Cortese for failing to comply with GAR 23(1)(a).

Voluptuous Blue - Late scratching at 1:45pm on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to a left hind leg injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. 

Aston Cabernet was slow to begin.

Superstar Jessie and Superior Charry collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Shifty.  Blackpool Remi and Superior Charry collided approaching the home turn.  Blackpool Remi and Shifty collided in the home straight checking Blackpool Remi.

Valita and Dynamic Ross collided soon after the start checking Valita.  Sarcasmic and Light The Track collided soon after the start.  Romeo Lad checked off Victor Leone approaching the first turn.  Threadin' Mikado and Looby Sky collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Threadin' Mikado.  Victor Leone, Valita and Light The Track collided on the first turn check all three greyhounds and causing them to all race wide.  Looby Sky checked off Victor Leone in the home straight.  Valita and Dynamic Ross collided approaching the winning post.

Superior Merlot was quick to begin.  Axel Boy Jose went up with the lids and was slow to begin.

Superior Merlot, Barbie Jiggs, Mane Toy and Zambora Tara collided on the first turn checking Superior Merlot, Mane Toy and Zambora Tara; Mane Toy raced wide as a result.  Little Kiddy lost ground on the first turn.  Superior Merlot, Salut Bianca and Zambora Tara collided entering the home straight checking all three greyhounds.  Saw Blaze crossed to the outside entering the home straight.  

Little Kiddy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have right back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Gavin Ithier, the representative of Saw Blaze and issued a warning regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight.

Sarah Smirnoff checked Midnight Tess soon after the start.  Mega Hazel checked off Zipping Lucky approaching the first turn.  Voluptuous Dot checked off Zipping Lucky on the first turn severely checking Sarah Smirnoff and Taylor Jayde; causing both greyhounds to race wide as a result.  Taylor Jayde contacted the outside fence and lost ground.  Zipping Lucky and Busta Mikado collided entering the home straight.  Vineyard cramped in the home straight.

Taylor Jayde underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right shoulder injury. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
