Valita was slow to begin. Another Vader was very slow to begin (3L). Boston Quay, Kid Callum and Resounding collided soon after the start checking Resounding. Happy Tails and Resounding collided in the back straight. Boston Quay and Rezzie's Shout collided approaching the second turn checking Rezzie's Shout and Valita. Happy Tails crossed to the outside on the home turn checking Resounding. Happy Tails and Resounding raced wide entering the home straight. Kid Callum, Happy Tails and Resounding raced wide in the home straight.
