Crimson Knight was quick to begin. Sunspear was slow to begin.
Sunspear and Jimmy Cheesecake collided soon after the start. Crimson Knight and Inga Alfie collided soon after the start. Inga Alfie galloped on Crimson Knight approaching the first turn. Cloudy Diamond checked off Inga Alfie on the first turn. Crimson Knight and Jimmy Cheesecake collided on the home turn checking Jimmy Cheesecake.
Sunspear underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left quadriceps muscle injury, left thigh muscle injury and a left hind toe spike wound. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
