Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Kareda Queen.
Sigrid The Proud was quick to begin. Victor Ludorum, Hard At It and Kareda Queen were slow to begin.
Kareda Queen faulted on the first turn and subsequently pulled up. Hard At It, Short Tyson and Sigrid The Proud collided on the first turn checking Sigrid The Proud. Kaya's Pearl raced wide on the home turn.
Kaya's Pearl underwent a post-race veterinary examination was found to have a left hindleg abraded paw/pad webbing A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Kareda Queen underwent a post-race veterinary examination was found to have a left monkey muscle injury and a right quadriceps muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr J Formosa, the trainer of Kareda Queen regarding the greyhound's racing manners turn off the back straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Kareda Queen was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Formosa pleaded guilty to the charge, Kareda Queen is suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
