Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Kayfish.
Run Hayley Run and Magic Flyer were slow to begin. Kayfish and Quik Step collided soon after the start, checking Quik Step. Ashlee Delight and Kayfish collided approaching the first turn, checking Kayfish. Ashlee Delight galloped on the heels of Private Fantasy approaching the first turn, severely checking Private Fantasy. Kayfish, Private Fantasy, Quik Step and Run Hayley Run collided on the first turn, checking Quik Step and severely checking Run Hayley Run which contacted the running rail. Farm Truck eased on the first turn and again approaching the home turn. Private Fantasy and Kayfish collided approaching the home turn, checking Kayfish.
Private Fantasy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a mild left thigh strain. No stand down period was imposed.
Run Hayley Run was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a strained left thigh muscle and spike wounds to the left hock and pencil muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Farm Truck was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left monkey muscle and left adducter muscle strain, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr P. Dunlevey, the trainer of the greyhound Farm Truck. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Farm Truck with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment and suspended the greyhound for 3 months (all tracks) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A((2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.
