Riverdale Bear, Ruby's Rosa and Blazin' Hawk were slow to begin.
Natsu Bale and Cardiff Bale collided soon after the start checking Cardiff Bale. Big Plans, Natsu Bale, Debut Knight and Pull Shot collided approaching the first turn checking Natsu Bale and Debut Knight. Ruby's Rosa and Debut Knight collided on the first turn checking Ruby's Rosa and Debut Knight. Debut Knight contacted the rail on the first turn checking Debut Knight, Natsu Bale and Ruby's Rosa. Cardiff Bale cramped in the home straight.
Debut Knight underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right thigh muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Cardiff Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination, it was reported that the greyhound cramped and sustained a right quadriceps muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
