Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Janray Lucky One.
Steel Magnolia, Gazza's Pick, Janray Lucky One, Winlock Jetty, Dyna Carl and Step Aside collided on the first turn checking Winlock Jetty and Dyna Carl and severely checking Step Aside and Steel Magnolia. Gazza's Pick and Janray Lucky One collided approaching the second turn checking Gazza's Pick. Dyna Carl and Janray Lucky One collided in the home straight. Dyna Carl underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was found.
Step Aside underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right shoulder and left thigh. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. N. Walsh, the trainer of Lost Property regarding its improved performance in this event. Mr. Walsh stated that the greyhound had been trialling well at Bendigo and The Meadows, he did not place a bet on the greyhound but was confident that the greyhound would perform well today if it did not receive any interference. Mr Walsh further added that Lost Property was resuming from a hip injury three starts ago. Stewards ordered that a sample be taken from the greyhound.
