Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 20.1 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.1 degrees.
During kennelling Stewards conducted a carpark check on all trainers’ vehicles engaged in today’s meeting. Stewards were satisfied that all transport had adhered to the GRV Hot Weather Policy and the GRV Transportation of Greyhounds Policy.
Usain Spolly and Legend Rose collided soon after the start. Wave Collision turned its head inwards soon after the start. Parabellum, Joking Bear and Wave Collision collided soon after the start and again at the 300m mark.
Wave Collision underwent a post-race veterinary examination - No apparent injury was reported. Kennel representative Mr. Jonathon Mullen declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr Jonathon Mullen, the representative for Wave Collision regarding the greyhounds racing manners soon after the start. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Wave Collision was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Mullen pleaded guilty to the charge, Wave Collision is suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
