Youdu was slow to begin.
Iceni Skye, Fonzarelli, Quick Session, My Hardaway Hana, Winlock Squints and Just Talking collided approaching the first turn checking Iceni Skye, Fonzarelli and Quick Session. Iceni Skye and Quick Session collided entering the home straight checking Iceni Skye. Fonzarelli and My Hardaway Hana collided entering the home straight. Winlock Squints checked off Aston Verve in the home straight. Aston Verve turned its head outwards approaching the winning post.
Aston Verve underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury and a right pencil whip muscle injury a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to handler Mr S Collyer, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Aston Verve was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Collyer pleaded guilty to the charge, Aston Verve must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
