Osiris Child - New declared weight of 32.3kg, last raced at 33.6kg. Trainer change.
Londyn's Choice was quick to begin. He's Alexis and Miss Maia were slow to begin.
Londyn's Choice checked off Maximum Rhonda on the first turn. Smart Sailor and Miss Maia collided on the first turn. Londyn's Choice and Osiris Child collided approaching the home turn, severely checking Londyn's Choice and as a result Zipping Miley was checked. Storming Vixen and Miss Maia collided on the home turn, checking both greyhounds. Maximum Rhonda turned its head inwards in the home straight.
Londyn's Choice underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions to the right dew claw area. A five day stand down period was imposed.
Maximum Rhonda underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race six, no apparent injury could be detected. Stewards spoke to Ms. C Poulter, the handler of Maximum Rhonda regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Maximum Rhonda was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Poulter pleaded not guilty to the charge, Maximum Rhonda was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
