Steward's Report
Urana Vee checked off Waltz On Bye soon after the start. Cosmic Chieftain and Nunniong Miss collided soon after the start. Early Storm faltered approaching the 300m mark and subsequently fell. Nunniong Miss crossed to the rail at the 250m mark checking Sergeant Schultz, Cosmic Chieftain and Zipping Clare.
Early Storm underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the neck, right hind paw, bruising to the right hind quarter and spikes wounds over the right stopper and to both hind paws. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs Susan Northway, the trainer of Early Storm regarding the greyhounds racing manner approaching the 300m mark, acting under GAR 75 (1) Stewards ordered Mrs Northway to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Early Storm in the event which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event. Stewards also deemed Early Storm's performance unsatisfactory during this event, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Early Storm must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
