Steward's Report
Mr Matthew Marshall failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve and prepare Lumen Hustle for racing. Mr Marshall was given a warning pursuant to GAR 46 (2).
Jackson County was slow to begin.
Yellowtail Bear, Lumen Hustle, All Show and Super Flyer collided soon after the start checking Yellowtail Bear, Lumen Hustle, All Show, Super Flyer and Jackson County. All Show, Super Flyer, Fernando Sam and Predator collided on the first turn checking All Show, Super Flyer, Fernando Sam, Predator, Yellowtail Bear, Jackson County and Lumen Hustle; Lumen Hustle raced wide and tailed off as a result. Predator checked off Fernando Sam approaching the home turn. Fernando Sam and Predator collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight. Yellowtail Bear checked off Super Flyer in the home straight.
Lumen Hustle underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 10. Lumen Hustle was found to have a suspected hairline metacarpal fracture to the left foreleg. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Marshall, the trainer of Lumen Hustle and acting under GAR 75 (1) Stewards ordered Mr Marshall to report any further injury as soon as practicable.
A post-race sample was taken from Galloping Occy- the winner of the event.
Supplememtary Report 13.01.2020:
Trainer Mr Marshall reported to Stewards that upon examination the greyhound Lumen Hustle presented no further injury.
