Amanda Lee was quick to begin. One Brew was slow to begin.
Hammer Head and Let's Go Sally collided approaching the first turn checking Let's Go Sally. Aston Imperial and Jacobite Jye collided approaching the first turn checking Jacobite Jye. Aston Imperial raced wide approaching the home turn checking Hammer Head. Nimble Jackson faltered and tailed off approaching the home turn. Aston Imperial marred Hammer Head approaching the home turn and again in the home straight.
Aston Imperial underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the left monkey muscle. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Drew the handler of Aston Imperial regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Aston Imperial was charged with marring. Mr. Drew pleaded guilty to the charge, Aston Imperial is suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Nimble Jackson underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury right hock. Nimble Jackson was humanely euthanased.
