Steward's Report
Captain Comet was quick to begin.
Our Rock Man and Mepunga Pegasus collided soon after the start, checking Mepunga Pegasus. Our Rock Man checked off Theo's Thunder soon after the start. Side Splitting brushed the running rail approaching the first turn. Side Splitting raced wide on the first turn. Mepunga Pegasus and Theo's Thunder collided on the third turn.
Side Splitting underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg triangle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to handler Mr. R Minarelli regarding the performance of Side Splitting in tonight's event. Mr. Minarelli stated that it was the greyhound's first start at the track and in his opinion Side Splitting is better suited to larger, single-turn tracks. Stewards noted the explanation.
