Side Splitting underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg triangle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to handler Mr. R Minarelli regarding the performance of Side Splitting in tonight's event. Mr. Minarelli stated that it was the greyhound's first start at the track and in his opinion Side Splitting is better suited to larger, single-turn tracks. Stewards noted the explanation.

Security Code and Zipping Murphy collided soon after the start, checking Zipping Murphy.  First Order and Zambora Andy collided soon after the start, checking First Order.  Bronski Beat checked off Secuirty Code approaching the first turn.  Black Treasure and Security Code collided on the first turn.  Black Treasure and Security Code collided on the third turn.  Security Code galloped on the heels of Zambora Andy approaching the winning post. First Order tired over the concluding stages.
