Steward's Report
Mr P. Pollutro the representative was issued with a warning after the greyhound Valley Reaper was negligently (GAR 86(o)) placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process.
Club Official Mr D. Henry was reminded of their responsibilities after the greyhound Valley Reaper was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process. This matter was referred to the Club Manager for further consideration and remediation.
Lektra Miss, Just Faith, Glayva and Valley Reaper were quick to begin. Lucas Rose and Tinker Bess were slow to begin.
Glayva and Valley Reaper collided approaching the first turn checking Valley Reaper which lost ground. Tinker Bess and Valley Reaper collided on the first turn. Lektra Miss and Just Faith collided on the first turn checking Lektra Miss which collided with Superstar Jessie. Lucas Rose and Superstar Jessie collided approaching the home turn. Ado Carr and Glayva collided approaching the home turn. Ado Carr visibly turned its head and marred Just Faith in the home straight.
Valley Reaper underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
Ado Carr underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have right triangle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs L. Russell, the trainer of Ado Carr regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Ado Carr was charged with marring. Mrs Russell pleaded guilty to the charge, Ado Carr is suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.
