A pre-race sample was taken from Canya Hurricane.
Magnet Force and Dee Nine were quick to begin.
Aston Jansz and Canya Hurricane collided soon after the start. Magnet Force checked off Dee Nine approaching the first turn checking Canya Hurricane and Master Cosmic. Cosmic Brew and Aston Jansz collided on the first turn. Magnet Force checked off Canya Hurricane approaching the home turn. Dee Nine tired over the concluding stages.
Dee Nine underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a diaphragmatic flutter (thumps). No stand down period was imposed.
