Comrade went up with the lids at box rise.

Weblec Fire crossed to the outside soon after the start, Mississippi Mud crossed to the inside soon after the start causing Weblec Fire, Bad Boy Barry, Burst The Seam, Why Not Gazza, Aston Nino, Tiggerlong Al and Mississippi Mud to collide. Bad Boy Barry, Why Not Gazza, Aston Nino and Tiggerlong Al collided approaching the first checking Why Not Gazza.  Burst The Seam checked off Bad Boy Barry on the first checking Burst The Seam, causing Burst the Seam, Tiggerlong Al and Why Not Gazza to collide. Comrade and Aston Nino collided entering the home straight. Weblec Fire turned its head and  eased approaching the winning post.

A post-race sample was taken from Mississippi Mud- the winner of the event.

Weblec Fire underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left tricep injury and a laceration to the front right paw. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to handler Mr G Lanigan,regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1),Weblec Fire was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr G Lanigan pleaded not guilty to the charge, Weblec Fire was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
