A pre-race sample was taken from Magic Lantern.
Blackpool Marvel and Slingshot Ebony were quick to begin.
Blackpool Marvel and Magic Lantern collided on the first turn, checking Blackpool Marvel, Why Not Dan, Alliteration and Magic Lantern. Alliteration and Magic Lantern collided approaching the home turn, checking Alliteration. Blackpool Marvel and Why Not Dan collided on the home turn, checking Blackpool Marvel. Slingshot Ebony turned it's head outwards and collided with Nero Frizzante entering the home straight. Alliteration and Magic Lantern raced wide entering the home straight and collided.
Slingshot Ebony underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the left hind toe, no stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr B. Hodgson, regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Slingshot Ebony was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Hodgson pleaded guilty to the charge, Slingshot Ebony must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
