Steward's Report
Tigers Nineteen – Late scratching at 2.40pm when Trainer Mr N. Carthew reported the greyhound to have a toe injury. (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
A pre-race sample was taken from Montaya.
Commencement of this event was delayed by 2 minutes to enable staff to remove wildlife from the track.
Lektra Lyrebird was quick to begin. Tan Back Tan was slow to begin.
Cosmic Katie and Belfast Dot collided on the first turn. Snake Pit Lass and Barefoot Barry collided on the first turn and again approaching the second turn. Montaya and Lektra Lyrebird collided on the second turn. Lektra Lyrebird and Snake Pit Lass collided in the home straight. Tan Back Tan marred Montaya approaching the winning post.
Tan Back Tan underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Bartlett the handler of Tan Back Tan regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Tan Back Tan was charged with marring. Mr Bartlett handler pleaded guilty to the charge, Tan Back Tan is suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
