Steward's Report
Cassius Monelli– Late scratching at 9.25am when Trainer, Mr K.Iles reported the greyhound to have a hock injury (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
Silver Destroyer and Khlo Money collided soon after the start checking Khlo Money. Artpop checked off Big Bubbles on the first turn and collided with Zipping Navy and Khlo Money; Khlo Money was checked as a result. Moraine Nicky visibly eased and turned its head inwards in the home straight.
Moraine Nicky underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Trainer Ms Debbie Goudge declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Ms Debbie Goudge the trainer of Moraine Nicky regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Moraine Nicky was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Goudge pleaded guilty to the charge, Moraine Nicky is suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
