She Wiggles was slow to begin. Alita and Paradise Pippa were very slow to begin.
She Wiggles checked off Starr Paws on the first turn. Mumma Jo checked off Run Fast Maggie on the first turn. Alita and Paradise Pippa collided approaching the second turn. Starr Paws and Coconut Miss collided approaching the second turn. She Wiggles checked off Starr Paws entering the front straight. Run Fast Maggie and Starr Paws collided in the front straight checking Starr Paws. Mumma Jo and Alita collided approaching the third turn. She Wiggles and Paradise Pippa collided approaching the fourth turn. Starr Paws checked off She Wiggles in the back straight. Run Fast Maggie and Alita collided on the fifth turn checking Run Fast Maggie and Starr Paws. Starr Paws eased on the home turn and collided with Run Fast Maggie checking Run Fast Maggie and Mumma Jo. Starr Paws marred Run Fast Maggie in the home straight.
Starr Paws underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the left monkey muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr P. Gabriel, regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Starr Paws was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr P. Gabriel pleaded guilty to the charge, Starr Paws must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
