Big Bash Ellyse shifted in soon after the start checking Big Boy Macka and Spinifex Gold. Majestic Way and Big Bash Ellyse collided approaching the first turn checking Majestic Way. Big Bash Ellyse contacted the running rail on the first turn and lost ground. Big Boy Macka and Majestic Way collided approaching the home turn checking Spinifex Gold. Big Boy Macka raced wide on the home turn.

Big Bash Ellyse underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a thoraco-lumbar injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
