Moraine Hayley checked off Kareda Gold soon after the start, checking Side Splitting. Solar Life, Elegant Malt and Kareda Gold collided approaching the first turn, checking Elegant Malt. Side Splitting checked off Elegant Malt on the first turn. Side Splitting raced wide on the home turn and collided with Moraine Hayley, resulting in Moraine Hayley being checked.
Side Splitting underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Dallan Klemke, the trainer of Side Splitting regarding its performance on the home turn.
