Don's Scolari was slow to begin.
Aston Zephyr and Eastern Faith collided on the first turn, checking Eastern Faith and Don's Scolari. Cruisy's Special checked off Artpop approaching the home turn. Don's Scolari clipped the heels of Eastern Faith approaching the home turn. Eastern Faith and Don's Scolari collided on the home turn. Eastern Faith lost ground in the home straight.
Eastern Faith underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have cramped. A five day stand down period was imposed. Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (Cramp) Eastern Faith must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted.
