Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Pete's Dream.
Belt Up Ronny and Pete's Dream collided soon after the start. Lily Pad and Lot Coin Babe collided on the first turn checking Lot Coin Babe, causing Lot Coin Babe and Silver Smarty to collide checking Lot Coin Babe. Lot Coin Babe visibly eased and turned its head to the outside and collided with Silver Smarty in the home straight.
Lot Coin Babe was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right deltoid, right pencil muscle and right hip, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr M. Briganti, Trainer, regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Lot Coin Babe was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Briganti pleaded guilty to the charge, Lot Coin Babe must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
