Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Dreamin' Is Free.
Five Thirty and Keefe were quick to begin. Midnight Mystery was slow to begin.
Bronski Beat checked off Keefe on the first turn. Five Thirty checked off Dreamin' Is Free on the first turn. Dreamin' Is Free and Cell Block Tango collided on the first turn checking Cell Block Tango. Midnight Mystery galloped on Keefe on the second turn checking Bronski Beat, Midnight Mystery fell as a result. Darnum Dasher turned its head outwards and visibly eased approaching the second turn. Darnum Dasher and Keefe collided entering the home straight.
Midnight Mystery underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the left front leg and foot. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Darnum Dasher underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent was reported. Mr P. Hendley declined a re-vet.
Stewards spoke to Mr P. Hendley, the trainer of Darnum Dasher regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the second turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Darnum Dasher was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Hendley pleaded guilty to the charge, Darnum Dasher is suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
