Steward's Report
Erolo Bale was slow to begin. Croucher and Erolo Bale collided approaching the first turn. Magnus Keroma and Optimus Dusty collided approaching the first turn. Croucher contacted the running rail on the first turn. Magnus Keroma and Optimus Dusty collided approaching the second turn and again on the second turn checking Optimus Dusty and Croucher. Jennifer Eccles and Akashi Boy collided on the third turn. Magnus Keroma checked off Croucher on the third turn. Optimus Dusty checked off Croucher approaching the home turn. Chillin checked off Zemira Mikado on the home turn. Akashi Boy turned its head outwards and visibly eased on the home turn.
Akashi Boy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left hind foot and an injury to the right deltoid, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr R. Douglas, Trainer, regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Akashi Boy was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Douglas pleaded not guilty to the charge, Akashi Boy was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
