Supplementary Report

Stewards concluded an inquiry into an incident in the catching pen following the running of Race 10 at Warrnambool on 1 October 2019. Stewards took additional evidence today from licensed handlers Ms. M. Bloom and Ms. M. Hunt, trainer Mr. G. Hunt, and club official Mr. D. Brooks. After reviewing all the evidence available to them, Stewards could not be satisfied that any rules had been breached and no further action was taken.

Mepunga Spectre underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left shoulder injury and soreness in both hindlimbs. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Silver Smarty was slow to begin.

Abstract Miss and Silver Smarty collided approaching the first turn, checking Abstract Miss. True Detective and Dyna Quota collided approaching the first turn. Silver Smarty checked off One Step Forward entering the back straight. True Detective raced wide entering the home straight.

Kalani Willow was quick to begin.

Big Casey, Bowled Harro and Panadero King collided soon after the start. Kalani Willow checked off Sizzlin' Sanchez on the first turn, checking Bowled Harro. Inga Mikey was quick to begin. Thomeli Monster, Zekel Bale and Mepunga Debbie were slow to begin.

Inga Mikey underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Ms. M. Inguanti, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Inga Mikey was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. Inguanti pleaded not guilty to the charge, Inga Mikey was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was taken from Miss Firebird.

Mighty Max Gone and Renita Bale were quick to begin.
