Aston Squire was very slow (3L).
Riverdale Bear checked off Una's Boy soon after the start. Limerick Prince and Bolt Lightning collided approaching the first turn checking, Limerick Prince. Bolt Lightning checked off Una's Boy approaching the home turn checking, Bolt Lightning causing Bolt Lightning and Riverdale Bear to collide. Bolt Lightning and Riverdale Bear collided again approaching the home turn checking, Bolt Lightning causing Limerick Prince and Bolt Lightning to collide.
Bolt Lightning underwent a post-race veterinary examination, at the Trainer's request, and was found to have a right hip injury and a right wrist sprain. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
