Miss Laquisha and Threadin' Mikado were slow to begin.
Yeah Baby, Miss Laquisha, Over Talking, Killara John and Brave Traveller collided soon after the start checking Yeah Baby. Yeah Baby and Miss Laquisha collided approaching the first turn checking Yeah Baby. Over Talking checked off Brave Traveller on the first turn. Yeah Baby checked off Miss Laquisha on the first turn. Killara John checked off Over Talking on the first turn causing Killara John and Miss Laquisha to collide. Paganini and Blair Bale collided entering the home straight.
Killara John underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left wrist and the right calf muscle. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
