Smarty Pants, Young Recruit and Runnin' Rampage collided soon after the start. Twisted Sister, Zoe's Intention and Smarty Pants collided approaching the first turn, checking Smarty Pants and Young Recruit. Butterfish and Smarty Pants collided approaching the home turn, checking Zoe's Intention and Young Recruit; severely checking Butterfish.
Butterfish underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left and right hindleg back muscle injuries. A seven day stand down period was imposed.
