Steward's Report
Zulu Walk crossed to the inside soon after the start checking Hard Break and Stepping. Stepping galloped on Drumbeater on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Stepping crossed to the outside on the second turn checking Mahogany Jet. Hard Break, Royalty Runa and Drumbeater collided on the second turn checking Drumbeater. Unrivalled Dusty raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight. Stepping marred Zulu Walk in the home straight checking Zulu Walk.
Stepping underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left pencil muscle and right triangle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms. Michelle Mallia, the trainer of Stepping regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Stepping was charged with marring. Ms. Mallia pleaded guilty to the charge, Stepping is suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
