Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Zita.
Lektra Lyrebird and Zita were quick to begin. Zipping Miley was slow to begin.
Gypsy Shane went up with the lids at box rise and lost ground as a result. Sonoma Icon checked off the heels of Zipping Miley on the first turn. Lektra Lyrebird checked off the heels of Zita on the first turn. Lektra Lyrebird, Rapid Fire and Raylene Bale collided on the first turn, checking Rapid Fire. Lektra Lyrebird and Raylene Bale collided approaching the home turn. Sonoma Icon galloped on the heels of Zipping Miley on the home turn. Lektra Lyrebird and Rapid Fire collided in the home straight.
Gypsy Shane, which trailed the field throughout the event, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was then re-examined following race five - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr Shane Flink, the representative of Gypsy Shane, regarding its performance in this event. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Gypsy Shane must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
