Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Striking Tiger.
Raw Zeal and Striking Tiger were slow to begin. Slingshot Lilham, Dundee Vulcan and Text Me Later collided approaching the first turn checking Slingshot Lilham and Shotgun Sally. Shotgun Sally checked off Slingshot Lilham on the first turn. Raw Zeal galloped on the heels of Dundee Vulcan on the first turn severely checking Dundee Vulcan and checking Raw Zeal; Dundee Vulcan lost ground as a result. Raw Zeal, Dusseldorp and Striking Tiger collided approaching the home turn checking Dusseldorp and Striking Tiger.
Dundee Vulcan underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Supplementary Report 20/8/19 -
Mr.G.Scott-Smith, the trainer of Dundee Vulcan contacted Stewards to advise that the greyhound was vetted yesterday and found to have bruising to the left ulna. Mr Scott-Smith will now give the greyhound a short break (2-3 weeks) before racing again.
