Straitline Willy and Mayor Digby were slow to begin. Garrido, Jeda's Girl and Having Words collided on the first turn checking Garrido. Mayor Digby and Bomber's Return collided on the first turn checking Cross Threaded. Having Words checked off Jeda's Girl approaching the home turn. Having Words and Garrido collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight checking Having Words.
Straitline Willy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
