A pre-race sample was taken from Go Commando.
Spring Value and Cawbourne Scar were slow to begin. Lektra Caution and Spring Value collided approaching the first turn. Go Commando crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Quip Allen. Henrow Bale contacted the running rail on the first turn. Dyna Smokey and Winsome Express collided on the first turn checking Dyna Smokey and Henrow Bale. Lektra Caution and Spring Value collided approaching the second turn. Dyna Smokey, Winsome Express and Henrow Bale collided on the second turn checking Winsome Express, Lektra Caution and Spring Value. Henrow Bale checked off Dyna Smokey on the third turn. Spring Value raced ungenerously in the home straight.
Spring Value was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to both calf muscles, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr K.
