Steward's Report

Zekel Bale was quick to begin.  Fernando Lass was slow to begin.

Zekel Bale, Aston Lindop and Crown Xena collided soon after the start.  Rusty Yaala and Weblec Wizz collided approaching the first turn.  Zekel Bale checked off Coyote Ugly on the first turn.  Fernando Lass checked off Aston Lindop approaching the home turn.  Aston Lindop raced wide on the home turn.  Crown Xena and Coyote Ugly collided entering the home straight. Rusty Yaala turned its head outwards entering the home straight.

Rusty Yaala underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race four. Rusty Yaala was found to have a mild lumbo-sacral injury and thumps. A seven day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to the trainer, Miss E. Palma,  regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Rusty Yaala was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Miss E. Palma pleaded guilty to the charge, Rusty Yaala must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

A post-race sample was taken from Zekel Bale - the winner of the event.
