Prettyboy Floyd and Worthy Speed were slow to begin. Worthy Effort and Dr. Kalessie collided soon after the start severely checking Worthy Effort. Dr. Kalessie crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Your No Match, Bella Lorian and Jojo Junior. Jojo Junior, Bella Lorian, Your No Match and Prettyboy Floyd collided approaching the first turn checking Jojo Junior. Bella Lorian, Prettyboy Floyd and Your No Match collided on the first turn checking Bella Lorian, Your No Match and Jojo Junior. Worthy Effort was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured left sinus, a 21 day stand down period was imposed. Jojo Junior was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Worthy Speed was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound showed symptoms of cramp and no other injury was apparent. No stand down penalty was applied.
Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Briffa, the representative of the greyhound Worthy Speed. Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (Cramp), Stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted.
