Steward's Report
Chasin' Louie, Little Mia, Xala Bale and Harrell Bale were quick to begin. Cranky Dave and Arninator were slow to begin.
Xala Bale and Harrell Bale collided soon after the start. Little Mia turned it's head outwards approaching the first turn and collided with Xala Bale. Chasin' Louie, Little Mia, Xala Bale and Harrell Bale collided approaching the first turn checking Chasin' Louie, Little Mia, Xala Bale, Harrell Bale and Arninator. Little Mia and Xala Bale collided on the first turn severly checking Little Mia. Chasin' Louie and Harrell Bale collided on the home turn. Cranky Dave tired in the home straight.
Cranky Dave underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected. Representative Mr. J. Willoughby was questioned regarding the greyhound's performance in the home straight. Mr Willoughby stated that the greyhound had performed similiarly in trials and it would be the connections intention to race the greyhound over the short distances only at this stage of the greyhounds career. Mr Willoughby's comments were noted.
Little Mia underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right tarsal sprain, a 21 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr L. Bicchieri, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Little Mia was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr L. Bicchieri pleaded guilty to the charge, Little Mia must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
