Steward's Report
Jimary Moneybags – Not raced for in excess of 3 months and is returning to racing from a right hock injury.
Destini Cheetah was quick to begin. Shimmy Dat Ray, Aston Lagonda, Call Me Bubbles and Jimary Moneybags collided approaching the first turn checking Jimary Moneybags. Call Me Bubbles, Shimmy Dat Ray and Moyarra Fantasy collided on the first turn checking all three greyhounds.
Jimary Moneybags underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no injury was able to be detected.
Shimmy Dat Ray underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the top of the right fore toes. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to the handler of Jimmy Moneybags, Mr Simon Smith regarding the greyhounds performance. Mr Smith stated that the greyhound had a fair run and worked hard to were it finished. Mr Smith also stated that the greyhound has had time off and it was its first start in a larger field for a long time. Stewards noted Mr Smiths explanation and took no further action.
A post-race sample was taken from Destini Cheetah, winner of the event.
