Steward's Report
The start of this event was delayed by approximately 1 minute and 30 seconds due to a technical malfunction in the kennels.
Run Ronnie Run was quick to begin. Moresby was slow to begin.
Star Hunter and Unique Quality collided on the first turn checking Unique Quality. Hardaway Winnie clipped the heels of Star Hunter on the first turn checking Hardaway Winnie. Unique Quality and Star Hunter collided approaching the second turn. Star Hunter and Hardaway Winnie collided approaching the home turn. Moresby clipped the heels of Why Not Maxine on the home turn and collided with Unique Quality checking Unique Quality and Moresby. Unique Quality and Moresby collided entering the home straight. Hardaway Winnie marred Unique Quality in the home straight and approaching the winning post.
Hardaway Winnie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right wrist, left hind paw and shin soreness in the left foreleg. A 14 day stand down was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Auld, the trainer of Hardaway Winnie regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Hardaway Winnie was charged with marring. Mr. Auld pleaded guilty to the charge, Hardaway Winnie is suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
