Mini Fernando was a late scratching at 11.48am when Mr. T. Whitford reported the greyhound to be ill (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
A pre-race sample was taken from Dr. Kestrel.
Brandeen Fi and Weeona Paul were slow to begin. Where's Lachie was very slow to begin (4 lengths). Pilot Pete, Weeona Paul and Dr. Kestrel collided on the first turn checking Weeona Paul. Brandeen Fi was checked off Dr. Paulina approaching the home turn checking Pilot Pete. Pilot Pete and Weeona Paul collided approaching the home turn checking Weeona Paul. Where's Lachie raced wide in the home straight. Mac Daddy and Pilot Pete collided several times in the home straight.
Mac Daddy was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no injury apparent.
