Zenstar was quick to begin. Last Princess, Ginza Lion and St. Pauli were slow to begin.
Reggie Ryan, Last Princess and One Moore Page collided approaching the first turn checking Last Princess. Last Princess, Ginza Lion, Fast Freddie and St. Pauli collided on the first turn checking Last Princess, Fast Freddie and St. Pauli and severely checking Ginza Lion. Fast Freddie faultered approaching the home turn and lost ground from that point.
Fast Freddie was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right back muscle and the right shoulder, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
