In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this event was deemed Heat Affected.  The outside temperature when kennels opened was 22.4 degrees, the inside kennel temperature was 16.9 degrees.

The outside temperature at race start time was 27.4 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to the race when the greyhounds were retrieved was 18.4 degrees.

Mr N. Jenner, the representative of Agent Duke declared a new weight of 33.8kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Agent Duke last raced at 32.5kg.

Superstar Jessie crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Hopeful, Meehan Pebbles and Amber's Dolly.  Hurricane Dylan and Agent Duke collided soon after the start.  Meehan Pebbles and Superstar Jessie collided at the 200m mark.  Agent Duke and Meehan Pebbles collided at the 50m mark.

Hurricane Dylan was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the spine and right shin, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Shanalinga was a late scratching at 8:44am due to an injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Angie was slow to begin.

Big Butterbean eased approaching the winning post.

Judges inadvertently displayed the wrong race number for this event which was corrected before all clear was given.

Big Butterbean was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right wrist injury a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Big Butterbean a post race sample was subsequently taken.

Stewards spoke to Mr G. Bartlett, the trainer of the greyhound Big Butterbean regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Big Butterbean with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Bartlett pleaded not guilty to the charge, Big Butterbean was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 12 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(c), before any future nomination will be accepted

Superior Hunter was a late scratching at 7:02am due to an illness (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Fran Keeping and Round Nose were slow to begin.

Spolly's Girl was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained bruising to the left track leg and abrasions to the right stopper, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Short Note and Smoke Signals were slow to begin.

Smoke Signals and Cool Titanium collided soon after the start.  Goodbye Goldie, Chopping Spuds and Cool Titanium collided at the 250m mark checking all three greyhounds.  Chopping Spuds, and Cool Titanium collided at the 200m mark and again at the 150m mark.  Bekim Instinct clipped the heels of Smoke Signals approaching the winning post.

Ninety Proof and Johnny's Return collided at the 250m mark and again at the 150m mark.  Misty's Boy and Mirror Max collided at the 150m mark.  Lanis Morris and ninety Proof collided approaching the winning post.  Misty's Boy and Mirror Max collided approaching the winning post.  

Don's Machine was a late scratching at 7:41am due to an injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Star Hennessy, Destini Cowboy and Sonny Micawber collided soon after the start.  Destini Cowboy and Sonny Micawber collided at the 300m mark.  Ryben Jack and Patchie Thief  collided at the 300m mark.  Destini Cowboy and Patchie Thief collided at the 150m mark.  

Star Hennessy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right wrist injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr G. Condon, the trainer of Rayda regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Rayda last raced on 26th October 2018. Mr Condon stated that the greyhound was resuming from a spell.

Crainy's Wish and Ball Bearing were slow to begin.

Ball Bearing, Midnight Muscat, Dontron and Why Not Senor collided soon after the start checking all four greyhounds.  Just Jimmy and Rayda collided soon after the start and again at the 250m mark.  Crainy's Wish, Brave Innings and Ball Bearing collided at the 250m mark checking all three greyhounds. Why Not Senor tired over the concluding stages.

Why Not Senor was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the left paw.  No stand down period was imposed.

Rhomboid and She's My Blast were slow to begin.

Ryder Sir and She's My Blast collided soon after the start.  Gojek, Rhomboid and Golden Romance collided soon after the start.  Gojek and Golden Romance collided at the 200m mark.  Lucky Love clipped the heels of She's My Blast at the 100m mark.  

Banjo Sally was a late scratching at 16:38pm due to an injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr T. Whitford, the trainer of Allen Varmint regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Allen Varmint last raced on 14th September 2018. Mr Whitford stated that the greyhound was resuming from a right hock injury. Mr Whitford also declared a new weight of 33.2kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Allen Varmint last raced at 31.9kg.

The outside temperature at race start time was 32.9 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to the race when the greyhounds were retrieved was 20.0 degrees.

Allen Varmint stumbled at box rise.  Superior Martini, Fruit Frames and Boopa Doop Girl collided soon after the start.  Regal Memphis crossed to the outside soon after the start and race wide throughout.  Eggeb Mai and Fruit Frames collided at the 150m mark.  Allen Varmint faltered at the 150m mark.  

Allen Varmint was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the chest muscle and right wrist, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

The outside temperature at race start time was 33.2 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to the race when the greyhounds were retrieved was 20 degrees.

A pre race sample was taken from Kylo Ren.

Layback Cruiser was slow to begin.

Cataleya, Subscapularis and Luna Evening collided soon after the start.  Subscapularis crossed to the outside at the 200m mark checking Luna Evening.  Miss Luna Girl and Kylo Ren collided at the 50m mark and again approaching the winning post.  

Superior Uno was a late scratching at 7:01am due to an illness (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Mr J. Van De Maat, the representative of Ruby Gas declared a new weight of 29.9kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Ruby Gas last raced at 28.7kg.

Lektra Miss was quick to begin.  Hypo Chared, Bees On Fire and Beast was slow to begin.

Dodge Coupe and Beast collided soon after the start.  Bees On Fire, Dodge Coupe, Ruby Gas and Beast collided at the 250m mark checking Ruby Gas.  Beast faltered at the 150m mark and subsequently tailed off.

Beast was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to right wrist and right shin, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.
