Stewards spoke to Mr Robert Colpoys, the trainer of Soap regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Soap last raced on 1 October, 2018 and is returning to racing following a right triangle injury.

This race was delayed by approximately 4 minutes after the cable slipped during the stir up. Remedial works were immediately undertaken to rectify the problem.

Troys' Rocket and Pacific Coast were slow to begin. 

Natural Cruiser checked off Jennifer Eccles approaching the first turn. Tiger Cabang lost ground approaching the first turn. Troy's Rocket checked off Natural Cruiser on the first turn and lost ground. Polo Pete and Zipping Dale collided on the first turn, checking Zipping Dale; both greyhounds raced wide as a result. Natural Cruiser and Having Words collided on the home turn and again in the home straight, checking Natural Cruiser. 

Tiger Cabang was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.  

Acting on a telephone call with Mr Justin Heatherton, Tayla's Banjo was a late scratching at 2:12pm with permission of stewards. No stand down period was imposed.

Fat Rhino and Water Colour were slow to begin. 

Water Colour and Our Flying Laura collided soon after the start. Yogi Mikado and Speedy Ryder collided soon after the start. Yogi Mikado and Our Flying Laura collided on the second turn, checking Yogi Mikado. Yogi Mikado eased and crossed to the outside approaching the home turn, checking Speedy Ryder and severely checking Our Flying Laura. Yogi Mikado eased and collided with Speedy Ryder on the home turn; both greyhounds lost considerable ground. 

Stewards spoke to Mr Gavin Hall, the representative for the greyhound Yogi Mikado regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn  Yogi Mikado was vetted and re-vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left hip and an abrasion to the right calf, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Yogi Mikado with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Hall pleaded guilty to the charge, Yogi Mikado was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a),  before any future nomination will be accepted.

New Fire Girl was quick to begin. Dyna Reaver was slow to begin.

Madonya and New Fire Girl collided soon after the start, checking Lights Of Tanjil and Madonya and severely checking New Fire Girl which stumbled. Dyna Reaver and Jayanti collided approaching the first turn. Lights Of Tanjil clipped the heels of Harper's Hand on the first turn, severely checking Lights Of Tanjil and Shotgun Shiloh and causing Dyna Reaver to fall. Madonya galloped on Jayanti on the first turn, checking both greyhounds. 

Dyna Reaver was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right thigh and left elbow. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to Mr Aaron Campbell, the trainer of Nunniong Miss regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Nunnniong Miss last raced on 17 August, 2018 and is returning to racing after being on season. Mr Campbell also declared a new weight of 28.4kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Nunniong Miss last raced at 27.3kgs. 

Mr Ian Dann, trainer of Knew It declared a new weight of 33.3kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Knew It last raced at 32.2kgs.

Manny Allen trialled over the 311m from box 1, weight 35.4kgs kgs, the greyhound was placed third in a field of five. The time of the trial was 18.00, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4L. Manny Allen was cleared. 

Articus trialled over the 311m from box 8, weight 36.3kgs, the greyhound was placed first in a field of five. The time of the trial was 18.00, the greyhound won by a margin of 0.5L. Articus was not cleared. Articus was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound suffered an exercise induced seizure. A 21 day stand down period was imposed. 

Funky Facts trialled over the 311m from box 4, weight 29.8kgs, the greyhound was placed second in a field of five. The time of the trial was 18.00, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 0.5L. Funky Facts was cleared.
